That may happen to your affiliates as well. You may have hundreds of affiliates to distribute offers, but not all of them deliver equal value. And it’s very likely you rely on a small bunch of them for large amount of traffic — 80/20 rules.

So, you may want to break down the desired amount of an offer, and allocate to all affiliates. But you also want to make sure top affiliates get higher quota. With Private Cap, you can easily make it happen on Offerslook.

Setting caps is quite simple and easy (check below for a detailed tutorial). But making a cap matrix could require some math. Here are two examples.

Example 1: shared caps only

Suppose you have set a Cap of 1,000 conversions for the Offer. And you have 2 affiliates: Affiliate A and Affiliate B. You have decided to set the following cap matrix

Then you’d allow both Affiliate A and Affiliate B to have maximum 500 conversions respectively. And in total, their contribution should not exceed 1,000 conversions, otherwise additional traffic will be either rejected or redirected.

Example 2: shared caps + private caps

Suppose you have set a Cap of 1,000 conversions for the Offer. And you have 3 affiliates: Affiliate A, Affiliate Band Affiliate C. You have decided to set the following cap matrix:

Then in this case, you’d allow:

  • Affiliate C to have 400 conversion cap for him/her only;
  • Affiliate A and Affiliate B to have 400 conversion cap maximum. But Affiliate A and Affiliate B, combined together, should not contribute more than 600 conversions (600 = 1,000-400);
  • That says, whenever Affiliate A and Affiliate B, combined together, contribute 600 conversions, additional traffic will be either rejected or redirected.

So, playing with private caps and shared caps can help you with both targets — making sure conversion target are met with all affiliates, and giving your top affiliates privilege.
